Social Engagement

Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event is actively involved in special events in the state capital as well as for the benefit of various facilities in Düsseldorf.

Promotion of junior staff in the meetings industry

For Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event, social responsibility also means the training and promotion of young professionals in the meetings industry. Several examiners at Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event for the event management/event technician vocational training programmes are voluntary members of the IHK examination board. They provide support to our trainees and regularly take part in IHK seminars or workshops on innovations regarding examination procedures and methods as well as on the principals and guidelines of the examinations.

In addition, the company is committed to encouraging young professionals in event management as part of collaboration with the IST-Studieninstitut für Kommunikation. In order to provide students of event management with a wider-ranging reference to practical work, a comprehensive insight into the organisation and implementation of various large events is offered at Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event.

Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event also cooperates with the Worms University of Applied Science to provide students with the opportunity to put their acquired knowledge into practice as part of an apprenticeship at Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event.

Promotion of young athletes

Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event is not only committed to the support and promotion of its own employees and trainees in the region. With the “Stockheim Team Rio” project, top athletes from Düsseldorf are supported on their way to the Olympic Games. The young sportsmen and women are accompanied over many years in a variety of disciplines such as hockey and table tennis. In this way, they are given the opportunity to optimally combine training, school and career.

Security Management

Numerous security aspects must be complied with in the operation of assembly areas as well as in the planning and implementation of events.

Among others these include:

  • General audience protection
  • Crowd management
  • Risk management
  • Occupational safety
  • Fire and environmental protection
  • Crime prevention and control

To provide for the above, Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event therefore maintains its own “Security Management” unit to advise customers, personnel and executives on all issues concerning the implementation of measures for improving the security standard. This includes the familiarisation with risk assessments, location- and event-specific security concepts such as inspections, collaboration with the authorities and the preparation of expert reports and assessments on security. Security management plays a central role for Düsseldorf Congress Sport & Event in all its undertakings and is an incentive for continuous improvement processes.
